Let’s brighten up your day with some colourful wedding inspiration. I can’t wait to show you this fiesta wedding from June at Acorn barn. You can expect a colour explosion with with pink and orange draping, papel picado, and paper fans and lots more.
I LOVE when couples want to use bright bold colours and when Siobhan explained her vision and additionally that she wanted to celebrate her Mexican vibrant heritage in the design, I was so excited. I knew it would be full of bold colours and together we could create something special for their wedding day.

Ceiling
Siobhan wanted to celebrate her Mexican heritage and encompass it in the design. It was especially important that not only was the colour palette key, but also the design elements such as incorporating the papel picado along with the draping to really bring the vibrancy of a fiesta wedding to life. Therefore when trying to figure out what to do with the ceiling we decided the best option was to drape huge material on pink and orange across the ceiling to really transform the space from a blank canvas to a colourful vibrant room, and make it feel cosy.

The table design
For the table decor it was particularly important it felt relaxed and not too busy as the meal was a feasting style meal. So we needed to leave enough space for the food and board. Instead of flowers for centrepieces we used cactus and Siobhan spray painted the pots, and added a white macrame runner, adding texture and bringing the elements of Mexico into the tables. We added bright orange napkins and pink menus in the same style as the signage to bring all the elements together to create this colourful fiesta wedding. Oh and we can’t forget the beautiful twisted candles which add another burst of colour onto the tables.
Instead of round tables we opted for long tables and a mix of vintage wooden chairs to add a relaxed vibe. The table names were also personalised to countries they have visited. It’s a great way to personalise your wedding day. Something that’s really important to me is adding my couples personality and story into the design. I always want each wedding to be a reflection of my couples.

The backdrop
The paper fan backdrop was so much fun which I made on site. It certainly added a fun colourful element, and a focal point for the ceremony. I used a mix of colours and patterns and added some honeycomb balls to fill the frame. I loved how it turned out, and it set the tone for a fun fiesta wedding celebrations. I also added some honeycomb balls to the outside area above the bell tent where the kids area was to tie the two spaces together.

Signage
Lastly I made these stunning semi circle welcome sign, table plan and table names all in the same shapes to add a modern touch and so the decor didn’t become cliche. I painted them in the same colours as the rest of the table decor focusing on the pink and orange colours. Signage and stationery can really add cohesive look to your day and set the tone for your celebrations. I always love mixing shapes, colours and layering them to add interest to the space.

I loved working with Siobhan on their wedding design, she had a vision of what she wanted but together we created something special.
